From its inception to the present, various branches of the military continue to utilize the Keystone Heights Airport for various training exercises. Sharing the North border of the Airpark is Camp Blanding's Joint Training Center, the primary military reservation and training base for the Florida National Guard.
The City passed an ordinance in 1991 creating the Keystone Airpark Authority to oversee the management and financial matters of the airport. The City of Keystone Heights/Keystone Airpark Authority owns and operates the Keystone Airpark.
The Airpark serves the aviation needs of Clay, Bradford, and portions of Alachua Counties. In November 2001, the Authority authorized a Notice-to-Proceed to Earth Tech Consulting, Inc. to prepare an Airport Master Plan Update for the Airpark. Funding for the Airport Master Plan Update was obtained through a 90 percent grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP), with 5 percent of the funds from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and the remaining 5 percent of the funds from the Authority. The current Airport Master Plan includes existing and proposed aviation facilities; pertinent airport/runway data and other useful information for both existing as well as future tenants.
At present the airport is home to:
Cloud Busters, a radio control aircraft club, plus
FAA certified airframe and power plant mechanics.
The Airpark comprises approximately 2,505+ acres:
530 acres for an industrial park area zoned for clean industrial development. The park's access is from State Road 100 with access to nearby U.S. Highway 301 and Interstates that facilitate transportation of goods and services.
691 acres for Aviation Commercial/Operating area
23 acres for Aviation Commercial/Select Industrial area
 1,253 acres for Timber/Wildlife area
